Girl Boss: Is a confident, strong women who pursues her ambitions and keeps grinding every single day. She has goals and is never afraid to back down. She’s so busy chasing what she wants that she doesn’t have time to complain that “she’s tired’ or “too busy.” She knows exactly what she wants and she will do whatever it takes to get it.
In Britney Spears’ own words “You want a hot body? You want a Bugatti?
You want a Maserati? You better work b!tch.” 😉
I think it takes time to become a “girl boss.” You need to find what sets your soul on fire. When I was a teenager, I was always jealous of my friends who had hobbies and actually enjoyed them. I never knew what I loved and I tried things like piano lessons, but I ended up quitting because it wasn’t my passion. It wasn’t until I found my husband, fitness and blogging that I realized what “hustling” is! You can hustle in so many different ways.
Example, I’m very proud of my husband and I, we GRIND. IT. OUT. HARD. We have never had any family help with anything. We got married at a gorgeous place, it obviously wasn’t cheap since it was in Toronto, I did a fitness competition (very expensive as well), we saved up to travel for a year, (thanks in-laws for letting us stay with you guys to save extra money), bought a car when we got back from travelling, and now recently we just bought our first house. My husband and I work our asses off and we do it all on our own! 100% Go getters!
We tend to get what we want because our determination and goal setting is very strong! I think since we don’t have family money to lean on, we set ourselves up for bigger success. Saving isn’t always easy, but you just need to figure out what’s a bigger priority, your goal that you need to save up for, or unnecessary things like booze, getting eyelash extensions etc. Before Jamie and I left to travel for 4 months, we would often hear people being jealous about the journey we were about to take. I honestly hate when people say that, because anyone can do anything! You just need to hustle, focus, and make some sacrifices for the things you want. We sacrificed a lot, we didn’t’ go on a single date night in one whole year! Talk about determination!
I wanted to write this blog as a reminder for myself and others who love to chase their goals, but also need some motivation and strong quotes to help keep you pushing forward! Whether you have travel goals, fitness goals, work goals, personal growth goals, or parent goals, these are for everyone and anyone!
You got this babe! Let’s get it!
